Joseph McShea has been working with Youth & Family Services since 2004. He is a Certified Addictions
Counselor (CAC) with a variety of career experience. Joe began his counseling career with the
Salvation Army in Houston, Texas in 1986, after which he was employed by the Texas Department of
Corrections where he provided drug and alcohol counseling to prison inmates. Joe relocated to
Pennsylvania in 1997 where he continued to work with those struggling with addiction issues at various
in and out-patient facilities. Joe is a committed member of the Upper Perkiomen community and his
twenty years of experience working with the chemically dependant has taught him that "The most
precious diamonds are found in the darkest mines."
At Youth & Family Services, Joe conducts assessments, determines appropriate levels of care, facilitates
groups, including the Men's Anger Management group, as well as providing individual substance abuse
