| The specialized programs offered by YFS are designed to meet the specific needs of the audience. We offer programs that cover a variety of life skills and that can be tailored to various circumstances. | Peace & Harmony Fair This is an event for elementary and middle school students. It involves activities and lessons that support the violence prevention program. To make students aware of their responsibilities to one another they participate in positive cooperative games that support team building skills and are learn creative problem solving strategies that make them aware of alternative choices to solve conflicts and make friends. |
| Diversity Symposium This is a day long conference for middle and/or high school students. Students are exposed to speakers from around the world who present their personal stories of cultural differences and life experiences. Last year's presenters included a Muslim living and working in America, a holocaust survivor, a local blind teenager, a local deaf woman and a Latino man. Students were given a chance to interact with the presenters through an afternoon question and answer panel session. |
| Bullying & Harassment Awareness This is a series of lessons presented to ninth grade students making the transition from middle school to high school. It is designed to provide students with an overview of bullying and harassment. Students are encouraged to participate in the classroom discussions, role plays and groups activities to become aware of the what constitutes bullying and harassment and to lean methods to coping with these issues. |
| PROJECT ENABLE (Educational and Adventure-Based Learning Experiences) This program for middle school students is designed to promote healthy lifestyles by challenging the participants thinking through both physical and mental activities. The program provides support for students dealing with the stress of school and their peers. There are several field trips throughout the school year and participation is voluntary.
